Inform your community
Often communities in Ireland and across the world have been misinformed, if informed at all
about the effect of the parades and the siege of the nationalist residents in Portadown.
One of the most effective ways of helping us is to keep your family, friends, local groups and community as a
whole informed about what is going on in Portadown and in other towns and villages in the North where nationalists
are a constant target of sectarian harassment and abuse.
Host information evenings, or lobby your local politicians at a council, county or national level. Urge them to sign a
declaration of support and encourage district councils to pass a motion calling on the governments to uphold the
right of nationalist residents to live free from sectarian harassment.
The news section on this site provides regular updates on what is happening in Portadown and you can also
subscribe to receive information by e-mail on a day to day basis. To do so, click here.
You can also contact the Ireland Friends of the Garvaghy Road to find out if there is a local branch of the group
close to your area and get actively involved in the campaign.
