Set-up a Friends of the Garvaghy Road branch
The Friends of the Garvaghy Road is an international solidarity network that was first established in 1998. It's aim
is to provide active support to the besieged residents of Portadown. The different branches are composed of
individuals groups interested in helping to break the wall of isolation that residents face.
There are currently branches of the group in Belfast, Derry, South Armagh, Fermanagh, Dublin, Cork, Wexford
London and Washington. These past years, groups have organised various activities such as a food convoy,
football tournaments between youth in Belfast and Portadown, drugs awareness sessions for youth and parents
and fund-raising activities.
For more information about how you can set up your own group in Ireland, send an e-mail to Friends
