The Lower Ormeau Community is asking for support now that their area has been completely sealed off and occupied by security forces. ***In particular, the LOCC is asking for people to contact the mainstream media to complain about the excessive and inflammatory actions of the security forces, and of the absolute lack of coverage by the media of this situation. The BBC is only reporting "traffic diversions." Anyone in the area, please phone the BBC (01232 338 000) and insist that they explain the truth of the situation.
Please also write to Mo Mowlam, Tony Blair and Bertie Ahern to protest the treatment of the residents of the Lower Ormeau and the way their rights have been abused and their lives invaded this morning, a full 28 hours before the Orange march.
