As of 5:00 pm Wednesday, Orange Order supporters once again targeted the Garvaghy Road community. Loyalist protestors mounted road blocks at all major access points into the Nationalist Community. An impromptu Orange Order parade made its way up the Drumcree road, blocking traffic and drawing crowds of loyalist supporters. A Nationalist Resident trying to get through the checkpoints on his way home from work was stopped by the angry crowds and the wing mirror on his car torn off as he tried to make his way across the line.
As quickly as the Loyalist protestors appear, they disappear again only to turn up at a different location, to renew their tactics. The residents who live near the blockades are increasingly anxious, but the community remains calm and there has been no trouble on the nationlist side of the barriers.
