In a massive show of support for the hemmed in residents of the Garvaghy Road, people of Lurgan transported food and wishes of solidarity to Portadown this morning. Hundreds of Garvaghy Residents gathered at the Drumcree Community Centre this morning at 10:30 to welcome the Lurgan convoy of over 20 cars. Each car had boxes of food and supplies, and when they parked at the community centre, the Garvaghy Residents formed lines to pass the containers hand to hand into the community centre. It was an effort everyone participated in and one that bolstered spirits as well as conveyed the encouragement that the Garvaghy residents are not cut off or isolated from other communities around them.
